Examples in this guide are based on:
AMA Manual of Style: A Guide for Authors and Editors. 11th ed. 2020.
The AMA does not recommend citing AI software such as Chat GPT as the creator/author of any material or the use of generative AI tools.
"When traditional and generative AI technologies are used to create, review, revise, or edit any of the content in a manuscript, authors should report in the Acknowledgment section."
AMA guidelines on citing and referencing generative AI can be found on the JAMA Network's, Use of AI in Publication and Research (Instructions for Authors)
