CC License Elements

  • Attribution (BY) - Do you want others to identify you as the creator when they reuse your items for their own purpose?
  • Commercial Use (NC) - Are others permitted to use your work commercially.
  • Derivative Works (ND) - Are others allowed to change your work for their own purposes?
  • Sharing (SA) - Do others need to use the same license if they use and make changes to your work?

Resource Licensing

As a creator, all that you create in tangible form, such as this blog and other course documents, is protected by copyright with you as the copyright owner.

You will choose how to share your work. The choice is yours!

  • Maintain original copyright for total control.
  • Creative Commons licenses let you set rules like requiring credit or limiting use.
  • Retain no rights, publish to the public domain. 

A couple of notes:

  • As a reminder, a copyright symbol is not required. Creators are granted copyright as soon as item in tangible form. 
  • When sharing documents or content online, users should read the terms of use and privacy statements to determine ownership of resources shared online.
